Forum to discuss future for Cairns bat colony

THE contentious issue of flying fox colonies in inner-city locations will be explored by an expert panel tomorrow evening.
CSIRO's David Westcott, James Cook University infectious disease expert Prof John McBride and Cairns Base Hospital physician Dr Trent Yarwood will discuss the potential health and ecological impacts of a plan to evict about 20,000 bats from their current Cairns CBD roost. Read more
